Cycle complete!
Here goes to a first ever blog post!
So what am I doing.... Hi! My name is Daniel Ross and starting in August of this year I will attempt to cycle from New Zealand back to Ireland. I plan that it will take me about a year and no doubt I will be thrown some rather interesting scenarios and experience a few adventures. I'm doing the cycle in aid of Compassion. They are a charity I personally support and really believe that what they do changes lives. No REALLY they do! To find out more about them I've a page explaining more about their work on this site. I always remember a famous quote by Eleanor Roosevelt "Do one thing everyday that scares you." Well in 6 months time I will be doing something that is indeed scary, but at the same time overwhelmingly exciting! It is a challenge that I am relishing but one that I am definitely not be taking lightly. You can plan many things and for those that know me well enough know that I do SERIOUS planning! But to be honest there is a limit to what you can control, in life that is true of almost anything. We may plan out our lives thinking we've everything figured out but ultimately it is God who is in control and so in reality I shouldn't need to worry so much about everything. Planning a world bicycle trip while balancing final year of my studies in Finance was probably not the wisest idea! I often find myself daydreaming in class about pointless stuff like how I will get myself through the Middle East or how to cross the Nullarbor Desert in Australia. Ah sure we'll see in time.... But for now back to writing assignments on Macroeconomic Policy. Riveting I know! ;)
